FAQs on Web Site Translation at Centerville Web Design
Why should I translate my Web site into a foreign language?
The global scope of the Internet allows Web site publishers to reach audiences around the world. If you publish your Web site in Spanish, for instance, you'll increase your site's global visibility by more than 20 percent. This is particularly invaluable if your products or services can be used around the world. Also, many affiliate programs target different languages, which means your content could be generating more income than it currently does.
Why do you quote the Web site translation price as an "average" of 30 cents per word?
Different languages require different amounts of work. For instance, translating English into a European language is relatively easier than it is to translate a Web site into Chinese -- so there might be moderate price differences. Another important factor is the type of translation required. Highly-technical Web site translation, such as legal documents or owner's manuals will be charged at a higher rate. The best way to get a quote for a particular language is to contact us with information about the product/site you'd like translated for the Web.
Will you build my foreign-language Web site for me?
Yes. That cost will be included in the quote we send. Typically, we don't build an entirely new site -- we just add to your existing Web site by encoding the new language in UTF-8 on a subdomain. We can include flags and/or text on each page, indicating that the site is available in more than one language.
How will people find my foreign language Web content?
Users will find your translate Web content much like they find your English-language content -- via search engines and incoming links. When we publish your site in a foreign language, we'll also submit it to foreign-language search engines, for example, Google.jp is the Japanese version of Google.com.
How long will it take you to translate my Web site into a foreign language and publish it on my server?
You can expect a wait of approximately two weeks per language with a site of about 1,000-3,000 words. If your site has more than 3,000 words, please contact us for a quote and time estimate.
Will you translate a document for me that's not going on the Internet?
Definitely. The price will likely be lower as well. However, we always recommend putting great content on the Internet.
OK. You've sold me on your Web translation services. How can I contact you?
